So 3 of my kids are heading back to school in a few weeks, 2 of them will be facing the daily drama of middle school. We've all been there - are my clothes trendy enough, will I "fit in", which "clique" will I join? I'm also wondering the same thing - will I be with the "popular" mums, the "I volunteer for everything even though I'm a working mother" group? No, I think I will be, once again, one of the mothers that thankfully, doesn't really fit into one group. Our beloved, recently graduated from, elementary school had many of these cliques, from the "I'm best friends with my kids teacher and therefore get more student/teacher time than you", and the young mums who think that their kid is the most precious/important kid in the school. I've spent many years doing the whole school thing, my oldest just turned 20, and it's no less fascinating to watch now than it was when HE was in preschool. I'm given the evil eye at school by these young things, obviously wondering why someone as old as I am (somewhere in my mid/late 40s) is at school, little do they realise that I have 2 older kids too, fertile thing that I am :) Would love to meet up with them in another 15 years time and see just how they fare, more than a few of them need to stop and realise they and their kids are small fish in big ponds - yes, there IS a whole world out there that doesn't really care about them! Maybe they should be reminded of the recent speech about graduating kids NOT BEING SPECIAL.

Why I hate Westboro Church
We all have our own religious beliefs (or not) but I feel not one sane human being could agree with this messed up "church". I live in an area where there was a horrific murder/suicide a week ago, 2 poor baby boys were murdered by their psychotic father and burned in their house.
Margie Phelps of the Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church sent out a tweet saying the church will attend the boys' memorial service as a protest against the pending legalization of gay marriage in Washington state.
On what possible f***ed grounds could they possibly do this? Whatever kind of god they look up to, it certainly isn't mine, and forgive me, but I hope they burn in hell.

Ass hat Parents
Went to a school meeting last night with himself and two of the circus clowns, not just a regular school meeting, one specifically for potential enrollment in a Choice school. Now, all the details for the meeting were widely available, info such as BRING YOUR CHILD WITH YOU - MANDATORY, and DOORS WILL BE LOCKED AT 6.30 SO BE ON TIME. Ten minutes or so into it, himself disappears and comes back with quiet the tale. Apparently, asshat parents were in the foyer verbally abusing the darling elderly secretary because they "didn't know" they were supposed to be on time or bring their child with them. Really people? Not only can you not read but seriously, taking it out on an older lady because of your incompetence is disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe it was a good thing your child wasn't with you to witness your deplorable behaviour. Btw, the school entry is minimal and we are all competing for a place there. Do you think the school and secretary are gonna choose you now??? I sincerely hope not.

Did I Hurt Your Feelings??
Oh, so I just remembered something my not-sister told me yesterday that made me sad. She works in a Middle School and mentioned that at her school they are not allowed to wish anyone a Happy Birthday anymore. Happy Celebration Day is the preferred greeting, because some people may not celebrate birthdays and might be offended by hearing it. That makes me so sad. It's not a religious thing, just more PC-ness gone awry. :(
Whatever Happened to all the Men?????
So today, my fave radio station KISW, was inviting people to call in with advice for a guy who was having some issues. The story was, he got married and had kids and is very happy with his life, but is thinking of contacting an old girlfriend who dumped him 10 years ago. Apparently he feels he needs to have "closure" and hasn't ever gotten over being dumped. JFC, did he hand his balls to his wife for safekeeping when he got married????? Closure? Really? Is he expecting the ex girlfriend to beg forgiveness for hurting his feelings??? Unfortunately, where I live now, the home of the passive aggressive fleece monster, is full of immasculated men in touch with their feminine side to the point of oestrogen overload. You know them, the bumfluff beard, the herbal tea drinking, baby bjorn wearing daddies who spends quality time with baby so that gravelly-voiced mum can kick seven bales of snot out of people at her martial arts class before heading to Microsoft for the day. She spends her day telling everyone what to do then comes home and dominates daddy too.
I'm lucky to be married to "himself", English and proud of it, wouldn't be seen dead carrying one of our 4 monsters in a papoose, and thinks closure is something you do to an open door! I don't think the other extreme, caveman with a beer in one hand and a gun in the other is any better, but jeez, the majority of the guys I see in this area need a kick up the pants. All the rain we get here has melted away any backbone they may have had I guess.
